Light Saber
The famous light sabers used by Star Wars' Jedi's, are known for their
many unique designs. Each Jedi is known to design his own personalized
light saber though it has been noted that some groups of Jedi will
build similar light sabers to show a special bond between them.
Luke Skywalker's famous light saber in the First Star Wars movie was
originally built by Anakin Skywalker. This saber was known as a Padawan.
Over the years, Kenobi made some slight changes to the light saber
and finally it was passed on to Luke Skywalker. During the 2nd Star
Wars movie, Lucky attempted to build his own light saber. Unfortunately,
it didn't work. He later modified his father's light saber and used
that one with better success.
Luke went on to not only lose his light saber but his hand along with
it. He returned home and while in Obi Wan Kenobi's hut, constructed
another light saber. Later he will put this aside to use a more brutal
design in order to defeat the Emperor.
Darth Vader is known to be from the Dark Side and carried a special
light saber which he built. Later Obi Wan Kenobi takes Darth Vaders
light saber and gives it to Anakin's son, to teach him the ways of
the Dark Force.
Obi Wan Kenobi replaced his first lost Padawan light saber with a
unique and beautiful saber. Lost for a time, Obi Wan retrieved his
light saber from a 600 foot shaft. Later, this special light saber
was destroyed. Obi Wan had several more light sabers, one which Luke
Skywalker recovered and kept as a reminder of Obi Wan, his former master.
As the years passed, Obi Wan modified his light saber. Though the saber
kept the same basic appearance, it was a lethal weapon and never destroyed.
Many companies offer imitation Star Wars light sabers. They can range
in price from $10 to thousands. The actual light sabers used in the
Star Wars movies can be found for auction. If you are a collector of
light sabers, you could find yourself spending more than $200,000.
